Chemicals (VOC’s) found in most paints and sealants evaporate into the air. When sunlight hits them, they form smog, which is an eye, throat, nose and lung irritant.
Conventional coatings such as paints contribute to as much as 10% of total ozone-depleting chemicals and roughly 4% of North American green house gasses come from architectural coatings.
